Hair Makeover: Red Box Color to Blonde

EVER THOUGHT ABOUT GOING DARK TO LIGHT . . . LIGHT TO DARK, USING BOX COLOR?

Well every stylist just went . . .

Now this is my pep talk for all of you women out there that want to go from blonde to red to black and back to blonde...

Get a professional opinion and have them do the work for you! Im telling you...
YOU DESERVE TO HAVE BEAUTIFUL HAIR!

So, I had a new client come in who has naturally dark blonde hair that was blonde last year, box colored red and then professionally colored red 3 times.

She said that she wanted to be blonde . . .
And of course, my response is . . .

"Of course, Have a seat!
I am making the world blonde one head at a time."
 -Courtney Connell

Now this isn't the first time I have put myself in this situation, and boy do they make for a long day!

A long day it was...full of excitement and changes!!

So I take my approach which involved foiling pretty much every piece of her hair to give her a natural look. Let me tell you...the amount of hair that you see sectioned in the front is about 2x the amount on my entire head!!  LOTS OF HAIR HERE!

But my hard work and her patience paid off because in ONE DAY I took her hair from . . .

BEFORE                                                 AFTER

If you need a hairstylist, a change or even got your hair in a mess somehow, I am more than willing to consult with you to help give you what is best for your hair.

Natural Face Mask All Skin Types

FIRST THINGS FIRST...

Buy this product!!! Here is the link...no excuses!

Ok, now I can begin!!

Hope you are doing well and staying healthy! That is where it all begins. Your health with show through in your skin and body.

So I don't have much more to say about this product other than the fact that I love it!!

It is called the mask of magnaminty!

And minty it is!!

This mask is for all skin types (use caution if u have a sensitivity to peppermint).  It is made to use once a week as a deep cleansing mask. It will clean out your pores and help exfoliate, calm and soothe your skin.

As you can see in the picture below, it looks like ice cream! I mean seriously, I'd eat it if I could!! YUMMERS!!

All you have to do is wash your face and apply all over except for the eyes and mouth.

You will feel a very cool minty and tingling sensation! If you don't like the cooling effect, this mask is not for you!

As the mask dries, you will feel it as your skin tightens.

After 10 mins, gently scrub off with warm water.

The great thing about LUSH products is the fresh ingredients!  The one that I purchased will actually expire 4 months from the time I bought it. There will be a label on ur product that tells you the expiration date.

Make sure that if you look into other ones, you pay attention to whether or not it needs to be refrigerated. This mask DOES NOT.

So I thought i would let you all see the beauty of my face with the mask on lol...a little funny looking, but totally worth the amazing results!!

FOR YOUR ENTERTAINMENT:

Well I hope you all are able to try it out!!

Leave me a comment below and let me know what you think of it or if you have a favorite mask!

Baked Chicken & Asparagus

Hey Guys!

Hope you all are enjoying your monday.

Mine started out a little rocky... Last night I decided I would try to be strong and take down Jacob.  Well, that thought and one kick to his shin turned into a painful, swollen, "oh my gosh im dying and i broke my foot" night and morning.

HELP IVE FALLEN AND CANT GET UP!

I won't bore you with details, but I'm alive and well and hopefully tomorrow it will be good as new!

So, what am I to do with a day off alone and a limp...

"I SHALL COOK!", she says.

I could only work with what I had in the fridge, so I did a little bit of pinteresting and googling.  I came across this website --> Healthy Living

I found the perfect, simple recipe that is actually pretty healthy.
I will post for you the ingredients and steps below :

Ingredients:

One Box Wild Rice
4 Chicken Breasts
1 stalk asparagus (about 25 pieces)
1 can Cream of Chicken Soup
1/2 cup Water
Chicken seasoning
Mozzerella Cheese
Salt and pepper (to taste)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Cook rice - I use this kind of rice

It does take about 25 min to cook, but that will give you enough time to prepare.

You will then want to wash your asparagus and cut the bottom 1" off.

I had some frozen chicken that I let thaw out for a couple hours. At this time I cleaned off the chicken and added chicken seasoning to each side.

After the rice has cooked, lay it on the bottom of your glass dish pan.
On top of that, lay out your washed and dried asparagus.
Then lay on top of that, your seasoned chicken breasts.
Last, mix a can of condensed cream of chicken with a 1/2 cup of water. Make sure you mix it till smooth. Then pour on top of chicken.

Sprinkle desired amount of mozzerella cheese on top of chicken.

Place in preheated oven at 350 degrees for 40 mins or until chicken is thoroughly cooked!!

And this is your finished dish!!
BON APPETIT!

Tarte Makeup Review & Coupon Code

I finally received my Online Tarte Cosmetics Purchase!!

If you don't know anything about Tarte, here is a little overview...

Tarte is a company that is a leader to offering cosmetics that are full of vitamins, essential oils and natural ingredients.   They are formulated without parabens, mineral oil, phthalates, sodium lauryl sulfate, synthetic fragrances, GLUTEN, and triclosan.

Do i know exactly what any of those words mean or what they do?....umm no....but if i can't even pronounce them, im sure they aren't good for my body!!!

I remember a couple years ago, I read a lot about the HCG diet. They mentioned that you could not use any oils, lotions, "fats" on your body while on the diet.  Now I am not here to blog about this diet, but my point is that if you are on a diet to fat load and then not put any fat into your body, would you think about lotions, face and body oils?  I never really thought about what I have been putting on my skin that affects my body.  Your skin is the largest organ in the human body.  I think it is so important that we start paying more attention to what we eat but also what we put on our body and surround ourselves with.

So enough about the healthy lecture!  Lets get into these fabuloso products!!!!

In December I became more familiar with the Tarte products and I purchased the Amazonian clay 12 hour full coverage foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 15 Sunscreen.  I LOVE IT!!!

have combination skin.  Unfortunately I deal with breakouts at that "time of month" and my t zone tends to be very oily.  This product is a clay foundation which will give you a matte finish.  I can't even put in to words how great it is!  The product is light and gives great coverage.  I do use a highlighter, concealer, bronzer and blush with this foundation.  When using all of those products with a liquid foundation, you do not want a full coverage foundation!  I can go more into detail about foundations, highlight/contour, concealer, etc. if yall are interested!

Another product that I purchased from Tarte is the Amazonian Clay finishing powder!  I actually just used it for the first time today!  Love it!!
I have been very oily with dry patches lately....im sure its due to this ridiculous humidity/dry/cold/beautiful/sunny/hot weather....lol thats ST PETE FLORIDA for ya! ;) but i just love this powder.  I have tried several different setting powders for my foundation that I have been ok with, but I didnt' actually LOVE.  This product is a light white powder in a jar.  You just press on the sides and it will dispurse just the right amount for a one time full face coverage.  I use a small pointed brush and pat it under the eye, on the jaw line, above the eye brows, the middle of the nose, the cupids bow and the bottom point of the chin.

Another product I purchased is the lights, camera, flashes mascara. I haven't used it yet, but I'm picky about my mascara, so I will get back to you all on that one!

Avocado Tomato & Cheese Sandwich

Another day of trying to put together a meal with what I have left in the fridge...

I think I am starting to realize its grocery shopping time!!

I made this for Jacob this morning, along with eggs and bacon...he loved it!

He actually likes it so much I made more for lunch for him :-)

My very own recipe:

Tomato Avocado and Cheese Sandwich

Serving Size: 4 sandwiches

Ingredients:
8 slices of Bread
Light Mayo
Parmesan cheese
1 Tomato
1 Avocado
Salt and Pepper (to taste)

I was able to make two sandwiches out of 1/2 tomato and 1/2 avocado.

Place cheese on one slice of bread for each sandwich you are making.

Toast in toaster oven until cheese is melted and bread is slightly toasted.

While bread is toasting, cut avocado and tomato into thin slices.

Remove bread and place tomato and avocado on the side with melted cheese.

On the other piece of bread, add desired amount of mayo.

Add salt and pepper to taste.

Just press bread together and there you have it!

A simple, healthy sandwich for breakfast, lunch or dinner!!

Enjoy!

DIY VALENTINE GIFT

So I can finally post my little gift for my man!  I still don't think mine even comes close to how creative, unique and wonderful his was!

CLICK this link if you haven't seen it yet --> MY LIFE SIZE GIFT

So this is the gift I put together for Jacob:

To break it down for you...

This is the small box on the right.

I bought this small round box from joanns. From what i remember, it was around $2. I went back a couple of weeks later and found these glitter sticky letters on sale that I stuck to the top. Then, about 3 days before valentines day, I bought some sour gummy worms from publix to fill the box.

Here is a close up of the jar on the left:

Around the holidays I did a gift for my family and friends using mason jars. I found these at tj maxx for pretty cheap. I had some stickers I bought on sale from joanns that I put on each side of the jar. Then, I filled it with Swedish fish candies that I purchased from publix.

The fishing lure is definitely my favorite part of this gift.

I was browsing Pinterest one day and came across this customizable fishing lure from a company on etsy. I instantly thought, GOTTA HAVE IT! So I ordered it and requested for it to say I'M HOOKED ON YOU and the date we met!  I thought it turned out great!! Apparently, you can actually fish with it...and who knows, it's so cute you may start catchin lots of fish ;)

Here is a link to their etsy store --> CandTCustomLures

Just to add in another little fun thing, I found these Dice in the beginning of January at CVS. Each side says something different...it's a fun little game to play with your significant other ;)
Well... I hope you all liked my DIY Valentines Day Gift!

Stay tuned! I've got more DIY blogs to come!

Remember, if you want me to blog about something specific PLEASE let me know!!

Healthy Spicy Turkey Chili

This was my first time making chili. I definitely wanted to keep it healthy. I researched some Pinterest recipes and mixed them all together and came up with my own! I loved it! It's got a little kick to it but still added a little crystal hot sauce.  The boyfriend approved...success!! ;-)

Ingredients :

1 lb Ground Turkey
1 3/4 cup chicken broth
2 Tbsp. chili Powder
1 tsp. cumin
1 tsp. oregano
Onion powder (to taste)
Garlic powder (to taste)
Pepper (to taste)
1 can corn (drained)
1 can black beans (drained and rinsed)
1 cup chunky salsa

In large pan, med-high heat, cook spices and meat until browned. Then add the rest of the ingredients.   Bring to a boil. Reduce to low heat. Cover. Cook for 30 min. Occasionally stirring.

Serve Hot and Enjoy!
